The M8TT at Brisbane 2032 will feature the world's top sailing nations competing in a team-based format. A total of 8 nations will qualify for the event. The host country, Australia, and the reigning World Champion, the winner of the SSL Gold Cup 2030, will automatically qualify. To ensure global representation, teams from each of the four continents of Asia, Africa, Europe and Oceania will qualify, together with one team from each of North and South America in the Pan-American region.
- Round Robin Round-robin racing over three days, with the final race awarding double points.
- Final Phase The top two from each fleet race for Olympic Gold, Silver and Bronze on the final day. 3rd and 4th placed teams from each fleet compete in Petit Final for 5-8 positions.
- Race Format 4-boat fleet races on a buoy-marked course using identical SAF47 boats.
